Abstract:
Provided is a steering column mounting bracket such that load-deflection characteristics can be easily adjusted, and that in particular, peak loads can be easily raised. The steering column mounting bracket is a support member which has a bent cross section, and causes a steering column to be supported by a vehicle body member. The support member comprises a mounting surface which is fixed to the vehicle body member; a support surface which is mounted on the steering column; a main bent edge which is a connecting portion between the mounting surface and the support surface, and which extends in a direction that intersects the steering column at right angles; and a bead which is disposed in such a way as to intersect the main bent edge while extending over the mounting surface and the support surface and. Thus the features mentioned above are achieved.
