Abstract:

Provided is a steering control device that, when a driver is steering by means of a steering wheel, can achieve smooth steering by means of the steering torque tracking a target steering torque, when the steering wheel is released, can adjust in a manner such that the steering wheel returns to a neutral position at an appropriate speed, and can achieve a favorable steering feeling both during steering and when released. A motor (6) is controlled by means of a motor steering-assisting torque that is the sum of: a first steering-assisting torque proportional to the integral value of the difference betwen the target steering torque and the steering torque; and a second steering-assisting torque proportional to the motor rotational angular velocity and acting in a direction that suppresses the speed of resturn of the steering wheel (1) when the steering wheel (1) returns to a neutral position.
