Abstract:
When in an active steering mode such as in autonomous driving control, the convergence of a steering wheel 12 is improved by driving a reaction force motor 18 on the basis of a first damping torque command value having a comparatively high damping torque. Additionally, when in a manual steering mode for operating the steering wheel 12, a sense of discomfort felt by a driver when operating the steering wheel 12 can be suppressed by driving the reaction force motor 18 on the basis of a second damping torque command value having a lower damping torque than the first damping torque command value.
