Abstract:
A steering device for a trailer or the like has a steering rod (6) provided between
a forward steering-type trailer or the like (1) that includes a self-propelled
vehicle having a steering means installed near front steering wheels and a tractor
(4) that tows the trailer or the like by a center connection member. A variation
in the distance occurring as the tractor is steered, between the tractor and the
trailer is transmitted to a steering means by the steering rod so that the direction
of steering of the trailer is controlled in association with the steering of the
tractor. A reinforcement connection mechanism (80) is provided in the steering
means connected to the steering rod. Even if the connection section is obliquely
pushed and turned or obliquely pulled and turned, a connection section where
the steering means is connected is reinforced by the reinforcement connection
mechanism, so that the steering means is reliably and smoothly operated for a
long period while being associated with movement of the steering rod.
