Abstract:
When a vehicle is steered, radial loads (R1, R2) which are caused by steering reaction forces from the road surface and which act in the rearward direction (Y2), for example, are applied from the rear wheels (6L, 6R) to the corresponding end sections (181, 182) of the steering shaft (18) via the corresponding knuckles (25L, 25R) and the corresponding tie rods (24L, 24R). A steering device (9) for a vehicle is provided with first and second counter-load application mechanisms (41, 42) for applying counter-loads (F1, F2), which are in opposition to the radial loads, to the end sections (181, 182) of the steering shaft (18), which correspond to the rear wheels (6L, 6R). The counter-load application mechanisms (41, 42) include motion conversion mechanisms for converting a twisting motion of the end sections (261, 262) of the axle beam (26), which correspond to the counter-load application mechanisms (41, 42), into, for example, a forward direction (Y1) motion of the end sections (181, 182) of the steering shaft (18) which correspond to the counter-load application mechanisms (41, 42). The twisting motion of the end sections (261, 262) is a motion caused by the ground contact reaction forces of the rear wheels (6L, 6R), to which the counter-load application mechanisms (41, 42) correspond, transmitted via the knuckles (25L, 25R) and the king pins (27L, 27R), the knuckles (25L, 25R) and the king pins (27L, 27R) corresponding to the counter-load application mechanisms (41, 42).
