Abstract:

Provided is a steering device that comprises an aluminum alloy column whereto a steering wheel locking device is mounted with bolts, and that is such there are prevented situations where a flange section onto which the bolts are tightened are destroyed or where shocks are applied to bolt heads using a sharp tool, resulting in the bolts being loosened. Counterbored holes (44) are formed to a depth such that inclined surfaces (412) are positioned higher than the upper ends (721) of disk-like members (72) of the bolts (7). It is difficult for a thief to apply shocks to disk-like members (72) of the bolts (7) by means of a sharp tool. Therefore, it is difficult to turn the bolts (7) to loosen the same. Consequently, it is possible to prevent a situation where the steering wheel locking device (6) is removed from an outer column (4), resulting in a vehicle being stolen.
