Abstract:
Provided is a steering device wherein it is possible to reduce the tapping noise and the sliding noise generated between a moveable tilt locking gear and the outer surface of the side plate of a vehicle body installation bracket. When a moveable tilt locking gear (6) turns and the protruding section on the tilt cam surface of a moveable cam (42) come on top of the protruding section on the tilt cam surface (85) of a fixed cam (8), a tightening rod (41) becomes pulled to the left side and the moveable tilt locking gear (6) becomes pressed against the outside surface (241) of the side plate (24) on the left side. The moveable tilt locking gear (6) is attached with a first buffer member (71) and a second buffer member (72), and the sliding contact surfaces (711, 712) of the first buffer member (71) and the sliding contact surface (721) of the second buffer member (72) come into contact with the outside surface (241) of the side plate (24) on the left side and slide, thereby suppressing sliding noise.
