Abstract:
A first plate of a fixed bracket is formed with long holes extending in parallel with a direction of movement of a column. A long-hole insertion portion of a suspension bolt of a suspension mechanism is located at an initial assembly position of one of the long holes. The inner periphery of the long holes is provided with: a pair of flat surface portions parallel with the column movement direction; an arched surface portion; and tapered surface portions connecting a pair of end portions of the arched surface portion to corresponding flat surface portions. A taper angle formed by each of the tapered surface portions and the column movement direction is equal to or greater than a friction angle.
