Abstract:

A resin pin (61) is inserted through a first resin pin insertion hole (66) in a first plate (30) and a second resin pin insertion hole (67) in a second plate (32) to link the second plate (32) to a prescribed position on the first plate (30), and during a secondary collision, undergoes shear break and detaches the second plate (32) from the prescribed position in the direction of the column movement. A slide plate (43) along the top surface (30a) of the first plate (30) has a resin pin sighting hole (65) through which the resin pin can be confirmed by sight. A high-hardness collar (62) is received by the second plate (32), is arranged in the first resin pin insertion hole (66) and fits on the shaft portion (64) of the resin pin (61). Axial-direction elastic protrusions (81) through which the resin pin (61) applies a pressing biasing force to the slide plate (43) are provided in positions which during a secondary collision are clear of the range of passage in the column movement direction of the resin pin sighting hole (65).
