Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to improve the performance of a steering device. Inside a housing 11 of a steering device 1, a rack 10 movable in the X direction is provided, and a magnetic pattern 30 having a plurality of N-pole magnetic bodies 30N and a plurality of S-pole magnetic bodies 30S is formed on the rack 10. In the housing 11, a magnetic module 21 having a magnetic sensor 20 is also mounted. By receiving magnetic signals from the magnetic pattern 30 with the magnetic sensor 20, a fluctuation of movement of the rack 10 can be measured with high accuracy, and a failure of the magnetic sensor 20 can be detected.
