Abstract:
A rack housing (8) which accommodates a rack bar (7) comprises: a tubular portion (22) which is in a cylindrical shape and extends in the axial direction, a first inclined portion (23) which is formed on an end of the tubular portion (22) in the axial direction, and a second inclined portion (24) which is connected to one end of the first inclined portion (23) in the axial direction. The tubular portion (22) includes an inside surface (22a) which extends along the axial direction. The first inclined portion (23) includes a first inclined inside surface (23a) which is inclined at a first inclination angle (α) with respect to the inside surface (22a). The second inclined portion (24) includes a second inclined inside surface (24a) which is inclined at a second inclination angle (β) larger than the first inclination angle (α) with respect to the inside surface (22a). When the rack bar (7) deflects toward an arrow (X) direction by input from a road surface, the first inclined inside surface (23a) abuts against a second rack teeth portion (20B) after abutment between a first rack teeth portion (20A) and the inside surface (22a) of the tubular portion (22).
