Abstract:
A steering device (801, 802) controls the steering angles of vehicle wheels (91-94) in a vehicle (100) having three or more wheels (91-94) that are not mechanically bound to each other and can be steered independently. On the basis of a vehicle status, a vehicle operation determination unit (65) determines a vehicle operation mode including a forward turning mode, a non-forward turning mode, and a lateral movement mode. A turning center coordinates determination unit (66) determines the coordinates of a turning center (C) of the vehicle (100) on the basis of the vehicle operation mode determined by the vehicle operation determination unit (65). Steering angle calculation units (67, 671-674) calculate steering angle command values for the vehicle wheels (91-94) on the basis of the coordinates of the turning center (C) determined by the turning center coordinates determination unit (66). Steering actuators (71-74) are provided corresponding to the vehicle wheels (91-94) and steer the vehicle wheels (91-94) according to the steering angle command values calculated by the steering angle calculation units (67, 671-674).
