Abstract:
This auxiliary steering function-equipped hub unit (1) is provided with: a hub unit body (2); a unit supporting member (3) which supports the hub unit body (2) such that the hub unit body (2) is rotatable about an auxiliary steering axis; and an auxiliary steering actuator (5) for rotationally driving the hub unit body (2). The auxiliary steering actuator (5) has a motor (26) and a linear motion mechanism (25) which converts rotational output of the motor (26) into a linear motion. The linear motion mechanism (25) has: a feed screw mechanism (30) which is coupled to the hub unit body (2); a rotary support bearing (31) which rotationally supports the feed screw mechanism (30); and a preload application means (33) which applies, to the rotary support bearing (31), a preload that is equal to or greater than a reaction force inputted thereto from outside.
