Abstract:
Provided are a steering wheel having an attractive appearance and a manufacturing method for the same. A wheel portion 4 has: an annular core metal 10 disposed around a boss portion 2 so as to have an equal radius therebetween; a closing member 20 engaged with the core metal 10; a resin molded body 30 surrounding the core metal 10 and closing member 20; and a decorative layer 40 disposed on the outer periphery of the resin molded body 30. The metal core 10 is U-shaped in cross-section thereof and has a pair of leg pieces 11, 11 and a connecting piece 12 for connecting one end sides of the leg pieces 11, 11. After closing a recess 13 with the closing member 20, injection molding is performed to form the resin molded body 30.
