Abstract:
It is intended to provide an inhibitor of the invasion of bone marrow-origin vascular stem cells or inflammatory cells into vessel wall, a blood vessel restenosis inhibitor and a preventive or a remedy for angitis or carditis, each containing a phthalein pigment compound as the active ingredient; an instrument for treating blood vessels which is coated with a resin containing a phthalein pigment compound or made of this resin, and so on. By using such a drug as described above, the restenosis of a blood vessel occurring after angiogenesis, etc. can be effective prevented. Moreover, it is possible thereby to prevent the progress and breakage of a lesion of angitis, carditis or arteriosclerosis, for which no efficacious preventive or therapeutic method has been established so far, microvascular ischemic diseases, etc. By performing a medical treatment such as angiogenesis with the use of the above-described instrument for treating blood vessels, the occurrence of blood vascular restenosis can be effectively prevented.
