Abstract:
This stent delivery system is a medical instrument provided with an outer tube, and an inner tube that is inserted into the outer tube and has, at the leading end thereof, a storage section for storing a stent. The storage section of this stent delivery system takes a first state of protruding from the outer tube while having the stent stored therein and being enlarged in diameter so as to have a diameter larger than the inner diameter of the outer tube, and a second state of being disengaged from the stent, being folded, being reduced in diameter, and being enclosed in the outer tube. Moreover, the storage section is provided with an initiation part at which folding of the storage section is initiated, when the storage section is to be folded for transitioning from the first state to the second state.
