Title:
STEPANOV\'S AEROHYDRODYNAMIC ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1994/003725
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An aerohydrodynamic engine for conversion of wind or water flow energy into mechanical energy comprises a vertical shaft (1), blades (2), axles (3) and stops (4). The blades (2) are arranged symmetrically around the shaft (1) and are hingedly mounted on shafts (3). The blades (2) consist of two parts unequal by mass and size and divided by a plane passing through the shafts (3) and perpendicular to the lateral surface of the blade (2). The larger part of the blade (2) has a smaller mass and is located between the shaft (3) and the stop (4). The engine has one or more tiers located one above the other. The number of blades (2) in a tier is preferably three. The neighbouring tiers are relatively offset by an angle equal to the quotient obtained from the division of the angle between the neighbouring blades by the number of tiers.
