Abstract:
Provided is a stereo image-capture device that outputs a moving image having a pixel count which is in accordance with a monitor used for monitoring, that carries out image recognition using an amount of computation which is, based on costs and the like, in accordance with the limits of an integrated circuit (computation device), and that can effectively use a high pixel-count image. The stereo image-capture device comprises a first image sensor 1 and a second image sensor 2 that output image-capture image signals. A monitoring/parallax-detection signal generation means 4 and a parallax-detection signal generation means 5: generate two parallax detection signals for detecting parallax from the two image signals from the two image sensors 1, 2; and generate a monitoring signal from the image signal from one of the image sensors, and output the monitoring signal to the monitor. A first compression processing circuit 14 compresses the monitoring signal at a set compression rate, and outputs such compressed signal. A second compression processing circuit 16 converts a discretionary range of an image displayed using the parallax-detection signal so that such range has a discretionary compression rate, and then outputs the parallax-detection signal.
