Abstract:
A stereo image processor (1) executes an image matching process in a first matching unit (6) on the partial images of the same object included in a standard image and a reference image, and detects the offset in pixel units between the standard image and the reference image based on the results of the image matching process. Next, for the partial images of the same object having the minimum offset in pixel units, a filtering process which uses an inverted phase filter having the inverted values of a row of pixel values of the standard image as the filter coefficients is applied to the pixel values of the reference image in an inverted phase filter unit (9) of a second matching unit (8). Then in a peak detection unit (10), the peak position where the output value of the filtering process using the inverted phase filter reaches a maximum is detected, and the offset in subpixel units of the standard image and the reference image is detected based on the peak position. Thus, there is provided a stereo image processor capable of improving the accuracy and analysis resolution of the parallax calculation and speeding up the process with a small computational load required for the parallax calculation.
