Abstract:
A stereoscopic image pickup apparatus comprises: pickup lenses; a pickup unit in which first and second photoelectric conversion units, which respectively receive first and second light beams having passed through two different pupil areas of the pickup lenses, are alternately arranged along a predetermined direction; a reflecting film; an entrance blocking film; a transparent medium in which the reflecting film and the entrance blocking film are embedded and which coats the pickup surface of the pickup unit; and a stereoscopic image creating unit that creates a stereoscopic image on the basis of output signals from the first and second photoelectric conversion units. The reflecting film reflects and causes the first light beam to enter the first photoelectric conversion unit, and reflects and causes the second light beam to enter the second photoelectric conversion unit. The entrance blocking film blocks the entrance of the second light beam into the first photoelectric conversion unit, and blocks the entrance of the first light beam into the second photoelectric conversion unit.
