Abstract:

A sterilizing device (1) comprising a sealed container (11) forming a sterilizing space (191), a nitrogen gas supply system (12) turning the atmosphere of the sterilizing space (191) into a nitrogen atmosphere, electrode pair (13) disposed in the sterilizing space (191), a pulse power supply (14) repeatedly applying electric pulses to the electrode pair (13), and a mirror (15) returning a short-wave ultraviolet ray traveling from the interior of the sterilizing space (191) to the outside to the interior of the sterilizing space (191). The sterilizing device (1) sterilizes an object to be sterilized ST1 in the presence of the object to be sterilized ST1 in a plasma generating area (192) between the electrode pair (13) by allowing a pulse field generated by the application of electric pulses to the electrode pair (13), nitrogen radicals (195) contained in plasma generated in a nitrogen atmosphere by fine-streamer discharge, and short-wave ultraviolet ray (196) generated by the nitrogen atmosphere due to fine-streamer discharge to act on bacteria.
