Abstract:

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a stirring device and method with which favorable processing of a fluid is achieved regardless of the properties of the fluid. A stirring device, which is provided with a stirring chamber (18) equipped with stirring blades (22) and a screen (23) and which is for performing a process of applying a shearing force on a fluid by rotating the screen (23) relative to the stirring blades (22) when the stirring chamber (18) is disposed in the fluid to be processed. The stirring chamber (18) is provided above with an intake port (24) through which the fluid is drawn from the outside into the interior and below with a discharge port (25) for discharging the fluid from the inside to the outside. Between the intake port (24) and the discharge port (25), a controlling body (31) for regulating the flow of the fluid is provided. By having, for example, a tubular shape, the controlling body (31) is interposed between the intake flow (26) and the discharge flow (27) and limits interference between the two.
