Abstract:
Disclosed is a stirring system for a bioreactor. The bioreactor comprises a tank for accommodating a mixture of cells and a liquid. The stirring system comprises a central shaft and a multi-layer paddle assembly, wherein the multi-layer paddle assembly is submerged in the mixture, and comprises an upper paddle assembly, a middle paddle assembly and a bottom paddle assembly which are arranged surrounding the central shaft; the bottom paddle assembly is arranged close to the bottom within the tank body, and is driven, in a contactless manner, by a drive outside the tank body; and the middle paddle assembly is arranged between the upper paddle assembly and the bottom paddle assembly and comprises a helical ribbon paddle. The stirring system can not only provide enough lift force at a low rotation speed to achieve continuous suspension of microcarriers, but can also minimize the damage of a shear force to animal cells.
