Description:
A Stonecast Product Reinforced and Accentuated with Root-Looking Knotted Bundle of Wickers or Twigs Technical Field This invention generally relates to stonecraft or handicraft, and more particularly to a stonecast product that is reinforced and accentuated with root- looking knotted bundle of wickers or twigs for a stronger body structure, and more ergonomic and elegant appearance. This product is usually used as garden accessory, houseware, architectural implements, or any other desired applications.

Background Art As is known in the art to which this invention appertains, stonecasts are commercially manufactured and marketed as substitute for purely stonecast products in substance, forms and/or designs. Normally, they have natural stone appearance and features such that their textures, roughness, crack occurrences and color which resemble those of the naturally occurring stones such as Mactan stones, mountain stones, beach stones, and the like. Though existing stonecast products disclose combinations of stonecast and other materials, the present combination in this invention has not been adopted yet ever since, purposely for a stronger body structure and more elegant, ergonomic, peculiar and accentuated look or appearance.

Summary Of The Invention The present invention seeks to overcome the product inadequacy of the prior art by providing a stonecast product that is combined by way of a provision of at least a reinforced and accentuated root-looking knotted bundle of wickers or twigs fixedly secured into a respective surface channel or concavity thereof so as to come up with a much stronger and more enhanced body structure in addition to a resulting peculiar, unique and accentuated appearance.

It is therefore a primary object of this invention to provide a stonecast product that is reinforced and accentuated with root-looking knotted bundle of wickers or twigs, making same much stronger, more ergonomic, better-looking than purely stonecast products, especially in applications such as housewares & commercial ornamental articles, e. g. novelty items, picture frames, fashion accessory, flower vase, etc.

Another object thereof is to provide a stonecast product that is reinforced and accentuated with root-looking knotted bundle of wickers or twigs that is highly flexible with respect to design choices and aesthetics that are suitably adopted for a more enhanced and elegant looks/appearance, and highly reliable in terms of strength, durability, originality and peculiarity, both characteristics of which can be customized to suitably conform to the customer's needs or preferences.

Still another object thereof is to provide a stonecast product that is reinforced and accentuated with root-looking knotted bundle of wickers or twigs which can be custom-built and mass-produced in a fast, practical, economical and easy manner.

Brief Description Of The Drawings Other objects and advantages of the invention will be understood and appreciated upon reading the following detailed description that is made in conjunction with the appended drawing, in which Fig. 1 is an enlarged and cut-away, perspective view of an illustrative embodiment of this invention shown in Fig. 3; Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view thereof taken along line 2-2 of Fig. 1; and Fig. 3 is a sample embodiment thereof that adopts a design preference and/or application in a form an ornamental jar article.

Detailed Description Referring now to the drawing in which like reference numerals designate the same parts or elements all throughout the succeeding description, there is shown in Fig. 1 a stonecast product that is reinforced and accentuated with root-looking knotted bundle of wickers or twigs generally designated by reference numeral 10 comprising a stonecast body or component 11 in combination with at least a root- looking knotted bundle of wickers or twigs 12 being fixedly secured by using an adhesive means 12a and/or fastening means 12b into a respective surface channel or concavity 13 thereof to come up with a much enhanced and elegant design composition as specifically shown in Figs. 1 and 3. There may be provided a plurality of said root-looking knotted bundle of wickers or twigs 12 made preferably of wooden materials which include natural-occurring materials such as

wicker, rattan, sika, nito, cogon, etc. , though other suitable material can also be used such as fiberglass, rubber, glass, plastic, metals, etc. In the illustrative embodiment, such root-looking knotted bundle of wickers or twigs 12 consists of a plurality of bamboo wickers or twigs 14 knotted or tied tightly together into a bundle spacedly along their length using fiber strands 15 preferably made of abaca material such that the free ends thereof extending from the exposed knotted portion 15a are disposed in a randomly scattered arrangement to appear like natural roots. A variety of strand materials that are capable of being knotted can also be adapted such as nylon, thread, synthetic fibers, natural fibers, or such other suitable materials as may be preferred. At the opposite side of the knotted portion 15a, the fiber strands 15 are piercingly embedded integrally into the surface channel or concavity 13 serving as the fastening means 12b such that knotting the strands 15 at the opposite side securely holds in place the bundle of

twigs or wickers 12. There can be adopted as many number of binds around the bundle as may be desired depending on design choices. This applies also to the preferable number of wickers or twigs in said bundle 12. The disposition of the bundle can be in any direction, say, vertical, horizontal, diagonal, or any inclination so desired. In assemblage, the overall appearance would look like natural roots being embedded halfly into respective co-extending channel or concavity 13 provided on the surface of said stonecast body 11. These wickers or twigs 12 can be dyed or painted with varieties of colors as may be desired.

The combination of materials as herein disclosed and embodied in this invention does not only provide aesthetics or ornamental attributes to the resulting products, but also enhanced strength and durability factor as these materials are structurally reinforcing each other integrally, such that each component becomes an integral part of the stonecast-based product. Insofar as its usage or intended application is concerned, such combination makes the stonecast product more ergonomic and very convenient to handle or use. The knotted bundle of twigs 12 appearing like roots do not only serve as a reinforcement or ornamental accentuation, but also as an ergonomic and convenient handling implement.

Though some other embodiments of this invention have not all been described or shown in this disclosure, they should be considered as falling within the spirit, teaching and scope of this invention which is claimed in the following claims.
