Abstract:
Provided is a storage battery system whereby it is possible to selectively switch between power which is discharged form a storage battery and power which is supplied from another power source and supply same to a load, and to alleviate consumption of standby power with an inverter. A storage battery system comprises: an external bypass (5) which bypasses a charging apparatus (2), a storage battery (3), an inverter (4), and which is connected between a power source (10) and a load (20); and a switch (6) which is configured to be capable of switching on and off the electrical connection between the power source (10) and the load (20) in the external bypass (5). When charging the storage battery (3), as a first mode (M1), the charging apparatus (2) is treated as on, the inverter (4) is off, and the switch unit (6) is on. When discharging the storage battery (3), as a second mode (M2), the charging apparatus (2) is off, the inverter (4) is on, and the switch unit (6) is off. When neither charging nor discharging the storage battery (3), as a third mode (M3), the charging apparatus (2) is off, the inverter (4) is off, and the switch unit (6) is on.
