Abstract:
Disclosed is a storage device in which a page which stores real data from a file to which a required response performance has been assigned is always allocated to a pool volume that fulfills the required response performance. When a required response performance for a file is assigned to an access request from a host computer (10000), a storage management system (23210) compares the required response performance for the file to a response performance of a pool volume allocated to a page (20041). If the response performance of the compared pool volume does not fulfill the required response performance, a pool volume that fulfills the required response performance is selected from among the pool volumes and the page (20041) is moved to the selected pool volume (20070) and the data is stored in the page (20041) allocated to the pool volume (20070).
