Abstract:
A first storage device determines whether to issue a bulk request requesting that a plurality of actual files corresponding to a plurality of stub files be transmitted collectively as bulk data, and if the determination is to issue the bulk request, then transmits the bulk request to a second storage device. Upon receiving this bulk request, the second storage device transmits the plurality of actual files collectively as bulk data to the first storage device on the basis of the bulk request. Receiving this bulk data, the first storage device extracts the plurality of actual files, corresponding to the plurality of stub files, from the bulk data.
