Abstract:
A storage system and a solid state disk (44). The storage system comprises a controller (11) and a solid state disk (44). The controller (11) is configured to send data and a first logical address of the data to the solid state disk (44) and to send metadata and a second logical address of the metadata to the solid state disk (44). The solid state disk (44) is configured to write the data into a first set of erase blocks and write the metadata into a second set of erase blocks if the first logical address and the second logical address are determined to belong to different address ranges. The first set of erase blocks comprises one or more erase blocks and the second set of erase blocks comprises one or more erase blocks, wherein the erase blocks comprised in the first set of erase blocks are all different from the erase blocks comprised in the second set of erase blocks. When the solid state disk performs garbage collection, write amplification can be reduced.
