Abstract:
The disclosed system comprises: a distributed storage processing means, which distributes separate data, which is the data to be stored separated into a plurality of data, and a plurality of fragment data, which is formed from redundant data, between a plurality of storage means and stores said data therein; an operation state detection means which detects the operation state of each of the storage means; a data regeneration means which, according to the results of the detection by the operation state detection means, if any of the storage means are down, regenerates the fragment data which was stored in the storage means that has gone down, on the basis of other fragment data which is stored in a storage means other than the storage means which is down, and stores said data in this other storage means. Furthermore, the data regeneration means has the functionality whereby fragment data which is stored in a storage means that is scheduled in advance to go down is transferred to another storage means and stored, before the storage means which is scheduled to go down actually goes down.
