This storage tank (10) is provided with: an inlet part (14) into which waste water flows from upstream; a storage part (12) provided with a storage space (20) for storing the waste water which has flowed in from the inlet part (14); an outlet part (16) which allows the waste water in the storage part (12) to flow out downstream; and an overflow port part (18) which is formed in the side surface of the storage part (12), has a centre (M2) positioned further upwards than the centre (M1) of the inlet part (14), and allows the waste water to overflow out of the storage part (12). Otherwise, the storage tank is provided with: the inlet part into which the waste water flows from upstream; a storage part which is provided with a storage space for storing the waste water which has flowed in from the inlet part, said storage part having, formed in the upper surface thereof, a recess having a height lower than that of other sections; the outlet part which allows the waste water in the storage part to flow out downstream; and an overflow port part which is formed in the recess, has a centre positioned further upwards than the centre of the inlet part, and allows the waste water to overflow out of the storage part.
