Abstract:
A straddle-type vehicle is provided which can suppress fluctuations in exhaust gas purification performance. An engine unit mounted on the straddle-type vehicle 1 is provided with: an engine main body 20 which has a combustion chamber 36; an exhaust passage unit 43 through which exhaust gas is passed from the combustion chamber 36 to an emission port 42e; an upstream catalyst 46 which is the catalyst furthest upstream in the direction of flow of the exhaust gas in the exhaust passage unit 43; an oxygen detection member 92f; and a phosphorus adhesion reducing unit 44. The phosphorous adhesion reducing unit 44 and the oxygen detection member 92f are arranged inside of the exhaust passage unit 43, between the combustion chamber 36 and the upstream catalyst. A catalyst layer 49 of the upstream catalyst 46 contains a noble metal and purifies exhaust gas. The phosphorous adhesion reducing unit 44 includes a phosphorus capture layer 44a and/or a phosphorus capture structure 44b and reduces adhesion of phosphorus to the catalyst layer 49.
