A straddle type vehicle comprising: a taillight (20) arranged at the rear of a vehicle (10) and emitting light in the vehicle rear direction; a license plate (21a) arranged at the rear of the vehicle; and a detection unit (30) that detects the surrounding conditions behind the vehicle. The detection unit is arranged lower than the taillight and higher than the license plate.
