Abstract:
Provided is a straddled vehicle which can suppress or avoid an increase in size of an engine and a centrifugal clutch on an input shaft, while obtaining the centrifugal force necessary to connect the centrifugal clutch on the input shaft. A motor generator is connected to a crankshaft of an engine. A multi-stage transmission decelerates the rotation of an input shaft and transmits the result to an output shaft via a gear ratio corresponding to a combination of a gear to be driven and a drive gear associated with one shift stage selected from among a plurality of shift stages. The centrifugal clutch on the input shaft is provided between the crankshaft and the input shaft, and is configured to allow/block motive power transmission from the crankshaft to the input shaft by using a weight moved by the centrifugal force generated in conjunction with the rotation of the crankshaft. A control device controls the motor generator such that the motor generator executes an acceleration promotion operation for promoting an increase in the rotation speed of the input shaft based on a clutch-in of the centrifugal clutch on the input shaft.
