Abstract:
A stranding machine capable of forming a stranded wire to which rubber coating is sufficiently applied and a method of coating the stranded wire. In the stranding machine (22), a rotating force about a wire material drawing direction (X-direction) is applied to a plurality of wire materials (18A) to (18C) drawn from bobbins (14A) to (14C) by the rotation of a rotating body (30) disposed at a position apart from the bobbins (14A) to (14C) in the wire material drawing direction (X-direction) to form the stranded wire. Accordingly, the plurality of wire materials (18A) to (18C) are not rotated on the bobbins (14A) to (14C) side of the stranded point (26) of the plurality of wire materials (18A) to (18C). Thus, when the plurality of wire materials (18A) to (18C) are coated with an unvulcanized rubber (88) at a rubber coated portion (28), the unvulcanized rubber (88) can be sufficiently filled between the plurality of wire materials (18A) to (18C) because the plurality of wire materials (18A) to (18C) are not so moved as to cross the inside of the unvulcanized rubber. Also, the unvulcanized rubber (88) is sufficiently adhered to the surfaces of the wire materials (18A) to (18C).
