Abstract:

This streak tube (1) comprises: a container (2) including an incident surface plate (2a) and an output surface plate (2b); a photoelectric surface (7) that emits electrons in accordance with light incident from the incident surface plate (2a); axisymmetric electron lenses (3, 4, 5) that focus the electrons emitted from the photoelectric surface (7); and a sweeping electrode (6) that sweeps the electrons focused by the axisymmetric electron lenses (3, 4, 5). A one-dimensional electron lens (9) that focuses the electrons in the sweeping direction is provided between the incident surface plate (2a) and the output surface plate (2b). Thus, temporal resolution is improved by reducing blurring in the output distribution in the sweeping direction, and also, the resolution of the output distribution in the spatial direction perpendicular to the sweeping direction is maintained favorably.
