Abstract:
Streptomyces species strain S-8 isolated from turfgrass rhizosphere soil according to the present invention has been confirmed to have excellent root colonization ability, and to inhibit the growth of Rhizoctonia solani, Pythium graminicola, or Sclerotinia homoeocarpa, thereby reducing the incidence of large patch and dollar spot. The Streptomyces species strain S-8 of the present invention can be used as an ecofriendly biopesticide posing no risk of environmental pollution occurring as a side effect of pesticide and human toxicity caused by residual pesticide, and has the potential to be of great industrial use due to the control effect thereof on turfgrass diseases.
