Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to allow connections having a better appearance to be made more easily, in a shorter time, and with lower costs by using only generic materials and machines or tools. A structural member includes a plate formed from a wood-based material and a hollow metal tube with an open bottom. The plate has formed therein a cylindrical first hole with the bottom face side opened in the front face and back face of the plate and a linear second hole that passes from the side face of the cylindrical first hole to a side face of the plate. The tube has an outer diameter corresponding to the inner diameter of the first hole and is inserted into the first hole of the plate. A third hole communicating with the second hole is formed in the side face of the tube.
