This structure for arranging a seal material is provided with: a first member (21); a second member (31) in which a groove (35) is formed; and the seal material (110) which is accommodated in the groove (35). The second member (31) is provided with a groove bottom surface (36) and groove side surfaces (37). The seal material (110) is provided with a base part (11), and a protruding part (12) which protrudes from the base part (11) towards one of the groove side surfaces (37). The protruding part (12) includes a tip (13) which is positioned away from said one groove side surface (37). The groove side surfaces (37) comprise an inner circumferential groove side surface (37m) which is provided at the inner circumferential side of the groove (35), and an outer circumferential groove side surface (37n) which is provided at the outer circumferential side of the groove (35). The base part (11) is in contact with the inner circumferential groove side surface (37m). The protruding part (12) protrudes from the base part (11) towards the outer circumferential groove side surface (37n). As a result of this configuration, a structure for arranging a sealing material is provided which exhibits excellent seal material fitting properties, and which inhibits rolling of the seal material.
