Abstract:
A coupling structure of a ball joint (1) comprising a ball stud (2) having a spherical head part (4) and a shank part (3), a bearing (5) for receiving the spherical head part of the ball stud and a housing (7) for holding the bearing, and an arm (19) having a hole part (20) for receiving the housing. The housing has a circumferential groove part (10) in the outer circumferential surface thereof and is arranged to be press fitted in the hole part of the arm. The groove part acts to relax the press fitting load being applied by the arm after the housing is press fitted in the hole part of the arm. Consequently, the pressure being applied to the spherical head part of the ball stud is suppressed and sliding characteristics of the ball stud are improved.
