Description:
Title: STRUCTURE FOR FIXING PACKING OF LID OF

AIRTIGHT CONTAINER

Technical Field

The present invention relates to a structure for fixing packing of a lid of

an airtight container capable of effectively sealing the interior of a container

using packing.

Background Art

As shown in Figure 6, when a container body 22 and a lid 23 are

formed in a circular shape in a container 21 generally used to store foods, a

circular packing 24 engaged to a lid 23 is tightly contacted with an inner wall

surface 25 of the container body 22 for thereby sealing the interior of the

container.

However, when the packing 24 is fixed and engaged in the conventional

art, a fixing end 26 formed at an inner end of the packing 24 is simply inserted

into a circular fixing groove 27 formed between wall members protruded from a

lower surface of the lid 23. In the above construction, when covering or

uncovering the lid 23 onto/from the container body 22, a certain pushing

phenomenon occurs at the packing 24, so that the fixing end 26 is easily

escaped from the circular fixing groove 27. Therefore, the reliability of the

product is decreased.

In addition, in the case that the conventional packing 24 is used, when

closing the container lid 23, the packing 24 receives a pressurizing force and is

transformed, so that the inner wall surface 25 of the container body 22 is

strongly pressed and sealed.

When the lid 23 is separated from the container body 22 after the inner

and outer sides of the container body 22 get communicated by opening an

airflow valve 29 formed at the lid 23, the user feels too tight. A popping noise

occurs when opening the lid, so that a lid opening person may have bad feeling.

Disclosure of Invention

Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a structure

for fixing packing of a lid of an airtight container capable of overcoming the

problems encountered in the conventional art.

It i s a nother o bject of the present i nvention to p rovide a structure for

fixing packing of a lid of an airtight container capable of effectively preventing an

easier escape of packing when a lid is covered or uncovered onto/from a

container body.

To achieve the above objects, in a sealing container lid that includes a

packing engaged to a lower surface of a lid for tightly engaging and sealing an

upper side of an inner surface of a container body, and an airflow valve that is

designed to disconnect a communication between the inner and outer sides of

the container when closing the lid and to prevent a vacuum in the interior of the

container body when opening the lid, there is provided a structure for fixing

packing of a lid of an airtight container, comprising a ring shaped groove formed

at a lower surface of the lid; a packing that includes a tight contacting surface

part upwardly e xpanded i n a n o utward d irection for s ealing g aps b ased on a

tight contact with an inner wall surface of the container body, and a fixing

surface part that is horizontally extended in a direction of an inner side of the

tight contacting surface part; a plurality of slits that are formed at the fixing

surface part of the packing at regular intervals in arc shapes each having the

same width as the ring shaped groove; and a packing fixing member that is

protruded and has the same cross section shape as the slit of the packing and

includes a plurality of fixing protrusions that pass through the slits and are

inserted into the ring shaped grooves wherein the packing fixing member fixedly

pressurizes the fixing surface part of the packing.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention

The preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described

with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Figure 1 is a view illustrating a packing engaging structure of an airtight

container lid according to the present invention, Figure 2 is a bottom view

illustrating packing according to the present invention, and Figure 3 is a cross

sectional view illustrating major parts of packing according to the present

invention.

In addition, Figure 4 is a plan view illustrating a packing fixing member

according to the present invention, and Figure 5 is a front cross sectional view

illustrating a packing fixing member according to the present invention.

Two vertical walls 3 and 4 are protruded from a lower surface 2 of a

sealed container lid 1 wherein two vertical walls are concentric. A ring shaped

engaging groove 5 is formed between two vertical walls 3 and 4.

Packing 6 is disposed at a lower side of two vertical walls 3 and 4. The

packing 6 is formed of a fixed surface part 7 that is nearly horizontal, and a tight

contacting surface part 10 that is risen from the fixed surface part 7 at a certain

inclination and is tightly contacted with an upper side of an inner wall surface 9

of the container body 8 for thereby sealing a gap. A plurality of small grooves 11

are formed at the tight contacting surface part 10 in an embossed shape like the

surface of a golf ball. Here, the small grooves 11 may be formed by corrosion or

an injection using a mold.

A plurality of arc shaped slits 12 each having a certain width

corresponding to the width of the engaging groove 5 are formed on the

horizontal fixed s urface part 7 a long a c ircular a re portion at certain i ntervals

therebetween.

The packing 6 is fixed by a packing fixing member 13. A plurality of fixing

protrusions 1 are vertically protruded from the packing fixing member 13

wherein each fixing protrusion has a certain cross section shape having the

same size as the arc shaped hole 12. The fixing protrusions 14 pass through

the arc shaped slits 12 of the packing 6 and are tightly inserted into the ring

shaped engaging grooves 5 formed between the vertical walls 3 and 4. In the

above construction, even when the fixed surface part 10 that corresponds to an

outer portion of the packing 6 is pulled, the packing 6 is caught by the fixing

protrusion 14 of the packing fixing member 13 and is stably supported, so that

the packing is not escaped from the lid 1.

In the present invention, the sealing container lid 1 covers the container

body 8, and the airflow valve 15 is closed for thereby disconnecting the input of

air. The tight contacting surface part 10 of the packing 6 is pressed by the inner

wall surface 9 of the container body 8 for thereby sealing the gap. In the above

state, even when the user tries to open the lid 1 , since a certain vacuum is

formed in the interior of the container body 8, the lid is not easily opened.

Therefore, when the user wants to open the lid 5, it is needed to lift up

and open the airflow valve 15. External air is inputted into the container body 8

through the opened airflow valve 15, so that vacuum is not formed in the interior

of the container for thereby achieving an easier escape of the lid.

In the present invention, the small grooves 11 are formed on the tight

contacting s urface part 1 0 of the packing 6 by corrosion m ethod, so that the

contacting area with respect to the inner wall surface 9 is decreased, whereby

the lid 1 can be easily opened. When releasing the tight contacting state with

the inner wall surface 9, the grooves 11 easily get released from the tight

engagement due to the filled air for thereby preventing popping noise. In the

present invention, the circular shaped container was described, b ut a certain

shape container such as a rectangular container, etc. may be adapted.

Industrial Applicability

As described above, a plurality of slits are formed at the packing. The

fixing protrusions of the packing fixing member pass through the slits and are

tightly inserted into the ring shaped grooves formed at the lower surface of the

lid for thereby pressing and fixing the packing. In the above construction, the

packing is not separated and moved even when the packing is pulled unless the

packing fixing member is separated. Therefore, in the present invention, it is

possible to prevent a bad lid engagement state due to the escape or movement

of the packing when engaging the lid for thereby enhancing a reliability of the

products.

In addition, a plurality of small grooves are formed on the tight contacting

surface part of the packing like the surface of a golf ball, so that the packing is

easily separated from the inner wall surface of the container body when

separating the lid for thereby achieving an easier lid opening operation and

decreasing a popping noise that has conventionally occurred when opening the

lid from the container body in the conventional art.

As the present invention may be embodied in several forms without

departing from the s pirit o r e ssential c haracteristics t hereof, it s hould also be

understood that the above-described examples are not limited by any of the

details of the foregoing description, unless otherwise specified, but rather
