Abstract:
A structure for the front portion of a vehicle comprises: a front bumper cross member 4 constituting a front bumper; an energy absorption member 5 having a polygonal closed cross-sectional shape, the energy absorption member 5 being affixed to the front face of the front bumper cross member 4 and crushing during a frontal collision of the vehicle; a female thread member 43 provided on the front face section of the front bumper cross member 4, the female thread member 43 having a bolt 53 engaged therewith, the bolt 53 having been passed through the energy absorption member 5, the female thread member 43 affixing the energy absorption member 5 to the front bumper cross member 4; a protrusion 51a2 formed protruding from the front bumper cross member 4-side mounting surface of the energy absorption member 5 toward the front bumper cross member 4 by a height greater than that of the head 53a of the bolt 53, the protrusion 51a2 receiving the head 53a of the bolt 53; and a recess 41a1 formed on the front face side of the front bumper cross member 4 and receiving the protrusion 51a2.
