It is made possible to prevent a socket from falling off, in a simple and compact configuration, with no influence exerted by tool models, or without impairing the sense of usability or ease of use. An impact driver (1A) is such that a connecting ring (22) the outer periphery of which is provided with a protrusion (28) equipped with a through hole (29), is removably clamp-fixed to the outer periphery of a shaft support section (13) of a hammer case, and that a carabiner (35) is inserted through and anchored to a ring (34) of a socket (30) and the through hole (29) of the connecting ring (22), with the result that a socket section (31) can be prevented from dropping in the event, for example, that a bit section (32) is broken.
