Abstract:
A structure for a side portion of a vehicle has a center pillar (3) extending in the vertical direction of the vehicle (M), an impact beam (13) placed inside a front side door (1) so as to extend in the front-rear direction of the vehicle, and a rigid bracket (16) fixed to the impact beam (13) and projecting from the impact beam (13) toward the center pillar (3). When the front side door (1) is subjected to a side collision, the rigid bracket (16) engages the center pillar (3) to transmit a load due to the side collision to the center pillar (3).
