Description:
SPECIFICATION

THE STRUCTURE THAT AVOIDS DAMAGE TO THE RAILED PORTABLE AWNINGS DUE TO THE WEIGHT OF THE SNOW THAT IS PILED ON THEM

TECHNICAL AREA

This invention is used in all railed portable awnings. THE KNOWN STATUS OF THE TECHNIQUE

Railed portable awnings are used in such places as cafeterias, restaurants, houses etc. By their design, such railed portable awnings are used in hot and dry weather by being rolled backwards, and they are used in rainy or cold weather by being opened forward.

In winter, the railed portable awnings are normally kept opened forward. The reason for keeping awnings open is the possibility of snow or rain at any time. By keeping the awning open, the snow or rain can not penetrate into the area covered by the awning, thus the furniture kept underneath are protected against harm. The railed portable awnings are rolled back day or night if a weather condition renders this necessary; and it is put back on when the use of the space covered by awning is no longer necessary. This procedure is maintained as a precaution against rain or snow.

Particularly in cold countries and regions, frosting occurs after snowing. In such case the snow that piled and then frosted on the opened awning becomes an unwanted weight weighing on the awning. Such weight negatively affects all the elements of the awning, causing awning elements to malfunction or even stop working altogether.

When it snows on the awning, the awning should be cleaned. And everybody knows how unpleasant an activity it is to plough that snow off the awning when it snows in the middle of the night. If the amount of snow on the awning becomes too much then the awning could cave in. And if that is the case, then the furniture and people underneath it could be damaged and injured.

Due to the weight caused by the snow on the railed portable awning and because of the damage that could occur on the awning elements, the snow on the awning has to be removed. Due to the fact that most people do not want to engage themselves in such a cleaning activity, the sales of awnings are inevitably destined to go down. The necessity to clean the snow at nights as well as during the daytime makes the prospective customers more and more reluctant to buy railed portable awnings.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention eliminates the disadvantage described above.

Due to the mechanism developed in the invention, the snow piled on the awning is removed instantly.

In the invention, a cable protection circuit is placed over or underneath the awning fabric. It is possible to place an S type angled or other forms of cable protection circuits over or underneath the awning fabric.

A cable is passed through the cable protection circuit that is placed over or underneath the awning fabric. Inside the aforementioned cable there is a resistance that instantly transforms electrical energy into thermal energy. Thus when it snows, the cable inside the cable protection circuit is powered with electricity; and the electricity thus provided is transformed into heat when it reaches the resistance inside the cable; and the heat thus generated ensures the melting of the snow.

The cable that transforms electricity into heat energy due to its built-in resistance can be placed both over or underneath the cable protection circuit, or, without using the cable protection circuit, the cable itself can be directly placed over or underneath the awning fabric.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention is designed for protecting the awning mechanism of the railed portable awnings (1) containing S shaped cable protection circuit (3), straight cable protection circuit (4) or any other shaped cable protection circuit that is placed over or underneath the awning fabric against weight of snow that is piled on them, and it consists of a heating cable (7) that is placed inside the shaped cable protection circuit of any kind (such as S shaped cable protection circuit (3), straight shaped cable protection circuit (4) etc.) which is placed over or underneath the awning fabric (2) or, instead of being placed inside a cable protection circuit, that is directly placed over or underneath the awning fabric (2), as well as of main cable-1 (5), main cable-2 (6) and rain water flow drain (8). In order to eliminate the problem caused by the snow heavily piled on the railed portable awnings, a heating cable (7) is placed on the awning fabric (2).

The heating cable placed on the awning fabric (2) consists of resistance wire (7.1), tinned earth element (7.2), return conductor (7.3), insulator (7.4), metallic shield (7.5) and external sheath (7.6) (The heating cable (7) could be in the form of a film layer or in any other form that has the heating capacity).

An S shaped cable protection circuit is placed over or underneath the awning fabric (2). And then a heating cable (7) is passed through that S shaped cable protection circuit (3). If it snows, then electricity is provided to the heating cable (7). The electricity provided to the heating cable (7) is transformed into heat through the resistance (7.1) placed inside the heating cable (7). The heat thus generated melts the snow on the awning (1). In another implementation of the invention;

A straight shaped cable protection circuit (4) is placed over or underneath the awning fabric (2). A heating cable (7) is passed inside the straight shaped cable protection circuit (4). Electricity is provided to the heating cable (7) when it snows. The electricity provided to the heating cable (7) is transformed into heat due to the resistance wire (7.1) placed inside the heating cable (7). The heat thus provided melts down and removes the snow piled on the awning (1).

The straight shaped cable protection circuit (4) is placed on the awning fabric (2) an angled and parallel way to the right side of the awning fabric (2), while it is also placed in an angled and parallel way to the left side of the awning fabric (2). The straight shaped cable protection circuit (4) is located on either side of the awning fabric in the form of a V. The rain water flow drain (8) is located in the center of the shape V. That drain ensures that the water is discharged when it rains or the snow melts. The heating cable (7) that is placed inside the straight shaped cable protection circuit (4) on the right side is connected to the main cable-1 (5); the heating cable (7) placed inside the straight shaped cable protection circuit (4) on the left side is connected to the main cable-2 (6).

Main cable-1 (5) and main cable-2 (6) both could be normal cables for electricity saving purposes or they could be the cables in the form of heating cables (7). The cable protection circuit could be a S shaped cable protection circuit (3), or a straight shaped cable protection circuit (4) or a cable protection circuit in any other shape.

In another implementation of the invention:

The heating cable (7) can be directly placed over or underneath the awning fabric (2). When the heating cable (7) is powered with electricity, heat is generated due to the resistance wire (7.1) placed inside the heating cable (7). The heat thus generated melts the snow on the awning (1).

The invention involves a heating system that is intended for melting the snow on the railed portable awnings (1) and awning fabric (2), the heating can be provided through other heating products and methods instead of electricity (such as heating through gas, water, oil etc.)
