Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a tubular structure or a structure partly having a tubular portion capable of solving problems in a conventional method by cutting, forging, or casting wherein the yielding of a material is low, working crack occurs, or shrinkage cavities are produced. In the method, a rotatable tool is inserted into a work while rotating with an annular jig disposed on the outside of the tool. A frictional heat is generated between the tool and the work to bring the work into an elastic flow state, and the work in the elastic flow state is filled in a space between the tool and the annular jig to manufacture the tubular structure.As compared with the conventional method by the cutting, forging, or casting, the tubular structure having more excellent accuracy and quality can be manufactured at low cost.
