Abstract:
A sub-module device for conversion of direct current power according to the present invention is a sub-module for conversion of direct current power, wherein the plurality of sub-modules connected in series can be used for DC-DC conversion. The sub-module may comprise: a power switch element which switches on/off direct current power in order to perform conversion of direct current power, such as voltage transformation; a direct current capacitor which stores direct current power being turned on/off by the power switching element; a power supply device which generates, from the direct current capacitor, power required to operate the sub-module; a sub-module controller which controls the overall operation of the sub-module; a memory which stores data required to operate the sub-module controller; and a communication unit which performs data communication with an external device, wherein the sub-module controller performs an update operation for a program (OS or firmware) during a period when a start sequence of the sub-module is in progress or a period when a stop sequence of the sub-module is in progress, while operating DC-DC conversion.
