Abstract:

The present invention detects changes in a subject by detecting a subject from an image, acquiring a feature quantity distribution representing shape information of the detected subject, accumulating the shape information represented by the acquired feature quantity distribution, and using the accumulated shape information to compare the shape information a predetermined time earlier to the current shape information, Here, the present invention acquires the feature quantity distribution of the subject from a region to be processed extracted from an image region containing the subject. Also, the present invention detects changes in the subject using accumulated shape change information acquired from the shape information. Also, the present invention detects changes in the subject using averaged shape change information that averages the shape change information.
