Abstract:
Provided are a submarine network device and a submarine cable system, wherein same are capable of timely and accurately detection of a fault of a submarine optical repeater. The device comprises a first optical fiber and a second optical fiber; at least one first pump laser for providing pump light to a first optical amplification unit located in the first optical fiber; the first optical amplification unit for amplifying a first detection optical signal sent from a first station to a second station and outputting same; a first optical fiber coupler, located in the first optical fiber and used for receiving a first reflected optical signal obtained, after being subjected to a Rayleigh backscattering effect, from the first detection optical signal, and sending part of the first reflected optical signal to a second optical fiber coupler located in the second optical fiber; at least one second pump laser for providing pump light to a second optical amplification unit; the second optical amplification unit for amplifying a second data optical signal sent from the second station to the first station and outputting same; and the second optical fiber coupler for receiving a part of the first reflected optical signal output by the first optical fiber coupler.
