Title:
SUBMARINE OPTICAL BRANCHING DEVICE, SUBMARINE OPTICAL CABLE SYSTEM, SWITCHING METHOD, NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/194842
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In this submarine optical cable system in which terminal stations are connected by a plurality of optical fiber transmission lines, a designated optical fiber transmission line is connected to an optical fiber transmission line for branching, without increasing the number of components between a submarine optical branching device and a branch station as much as possible. The submarine optical branching device 1 comprises a control unit (1a) and a switching unit (1b). The switching unit (1b) is connected to a plurality of first optical fiber transmission lines connected to a first terminal station, a plurality of second optical fiber transmission lines connected to a second terminal station, and a third optical fiber transmission line connected to a third terminal station, and switches the transmission route of a wavelength-multiplexed optical signal. The control unit (1a) controls the switching of the transmission route by the switching unit (1b). The switching unit (1b) has a function of respectively connecting the plurality of first optical fiber transmission lines to the plurality of second optical fiber transmission lines. The switching unit (1b) further has a function of switching such that any one of the plurality of first optical fiber transmission lines is connected to the third optical fiber transmission line.
