Microbe (Penicillium citrinum FKI-1938, FERM ABP-10149) belonging to the genus Penicillium citrinum and capable of producing substance FKI-1938A and/or substance FKI-1938B and/or substance FKI-1938B’ and/or substance FKI-1938C is incubated in a culture medium to thereby accumulate substance FKI-1938A and/or substance FKI-1938B and/or substance FKI-1938B’ and/or substance FKI-1366C in the culture. The substance FKI-1938A and/or substance FKI-1938B and/or substance FKI-1938B’ and/or substance FKI-1366C is collected from the culture. The thus obtained substances have a potency of enhancing the efficacy of azole antifungal drugs, so that they at low level shortly act on a multiplicity of fungal infections, such as latent fungous disease, thereby being effective in reducing of the frequency of resistant bacteria emergence. Further, their utilization in resistance overcoming is promising.
